Neal has 35 years of professional experience relating to all aspects of asset management of electrical infrastructure within the railway environment.

A former ASA Lead Electrical Engineer and Railcorp Chief Engineer Electrical, Neal has extensive experience as both a manager and a technical specialist in high voltage and 1500 VDC railway electric traction systems and infrastructure engineering. Neal has been exposed to all facets of major electrification projects from the conception stage through to design, construction, commissioning, systems safety assurance, maintenance and disposal of life expired assets. Neal currently assists with advisory support for critical infrastructure projects like the Sydney and Melbourne metro systems.

Jason has 20 years of professional experience in design and commissioning of earthing and protection systems associated with HV transmission and distribution substations, transport infrastructure, rail systems and water utility infrastructure.

He has key strengths in the design, testing and commissioning of transmission and distribution substation earthing, lightning protection systems, EPR/LFI studies and mitigation designs for water and gas pipelines. Jason’s background in construction enables him to provide valuable input to design constructability. He led the earthing and bonding team for the $3.7 billion North West Rail Link project.

Scott has 22 years of professional experience in HV/LV design, power system analysis, and protection system design, settings and commissioning. He prepared the protection system design and settings for the Manus Island facility including the generation plant and reticulation system.

Scott designed and commissioned measures to prevent corrosion due to stray DC current on Sydney Trains’ North West Rail Link project. He has also assisted commercial clients to assess corrosion risks for developments near DC traction systems.

Hooman’s 25 year professional career has included academic research as well as work for utilities and consultants. He specialises in managing earthing and lightning related risks for the power, water, rail and mining sectors.

Hooman’s novel studies on both renewable energy and power electronics earned him his PhD and the Curtin University Chancellor’s Award in 2003. His Curtin University team holds a patent issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office for their work on AC/DC power electronics. He has also authored book chapters and journal and conference papers.

David has 12 years of experience working in the engineering consulting industry with a proven track record in building strong and enduring client relationships with clients such as developers, contractors, and industrial clients such as Melbourne Airport, and Metro Trains Melbourne.

With a background in engineering design and consultancy, David has a broad technical experience working across multiple industries in Australia and the UK. This has been augmented with a strong delivery focus and includes conceptual and detailed primary switchyard design and power system modelling for utility, rail and industrial clients, onshore and offshore windfarm design and a technical focus on earthing design and high voltage cable system design.

Marty has 13 years of experience both in design and delivery of HV industrial projects. He has worked for consultancies in the UK and Australia performing site and office-based roles. Marty has provided engineering services across a range of industries including, water, airports and power utilities.

Marty’s key skills include project and interface management, HV/LV design, generation,and  industrial protection and control systems. In recent years, Marty has acted as owner’s engineer for several diesel and gas generation projects for critical infrastructure. This includes preparing function descriptions and schematic level designs for tender and then providing peer review and witnessing during the D&C contractor’s design, installation and commissioning works.
