PowerEarth commissioned the earthing systems associated with the 220 kV desalination plant cable system. This includes the longest 220 kV AC cable of its type in the world.
The tests simulated a 220 kV earth fault by injecting through the 220 kV cable. This was key to proving compliance as coupling between the faulted cable core and screens had a major impact on the EPR at each location. It also enabled the impact of EPR and LFI on the transfer pipeline and other nearby assets to be confirmed.
