Abermain substation is one of the main supply stations for the Greater Brisbance area.
PowerEarth designed the earthing system considering fault scenarios within and outside the substation for the various voltage systems. The design mitigated step and touch voltages to compliant levels. It also assessed the impact of an EPR at the substation on nearby metallic infratsructure like telecommunications assets and pipelines in accordance with AS/NZS 3835.1 and AS/NZS 4853 respectively.
